Livestock farming is
moderate: in 1989 it registered 29.525 head of sheep and 16.342
of pigs.
The poultry-raising
sector, with a very variable census, displays a total amount superior
to 1.250.000 head, with a clear predominance of chickens.
It is important to indicate that the rainfall that characterizes the
region, along with a lack of irrigation have made the existence of
important livestock farming difficult.
