Agriculture

Agriculture is firmly entrenched in the Alt Penedès, helped by the favourable natural conditions: a plain to a large extent of the territory, good climate and grounds of acceptable quality.

In 1989 the agrarian surface of the region was of 39.507 has, of which 22,829 were fallow ground, 11.835 were forest, 47 were permanent grazing lands and the rest were areas which were unusable for the primary sector.
